What is Hastelloy C276 Spiral Wound Gasket?

Hastelloy C276 spiral wound gasket consists of a winding ring made of Titanium steel strip and PTFE filler, then combined with an inner ring or outer centering guide ring. Hastelloy C276 spiral wound gasket has exceptional resistance to strong solutions of oxidizing salts, such as ferric and cupric chlorides. And it is suitable for many chemical process applications.

What is Hastelloy C276?

HASTELLOY C276 is a Nickel-chromium-molybdenum wrought alloy that is considered the most versatile corrosion resistant alloy available. This alloy is resistant to the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, thus making it suitable for most chemical process applications in an as welded condition. Alloy C-276 also has excellent resistance to pitting, stress-corrosion cracking and oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900°F. Alloy C-276 has exceptional resistance to a wide variety of chemical environments.

Is Hastelloy better than Inconel?

Both Inconel 625 and Hastelloy C-276 are nickel-chromium-molybdenum based alloys. They all have excellent corrosion resistance and good strength. Comparing the two alloys, Inconel 625 has a higher chromium content, while Hastelloy C-276 has a higher molybdenum content.
