Discover Kaxite Sealing's API RTJ gaskets: premium ring-type joints designed for high-pressure piping systems, ensuring leak-proof security and durability. Ideal for oil, gas, and industrial applications, they offer superior sealing performance with robust materials and precise engineering, giving you peace of mind and operational reliability. Trust Kaxite for unmatched quality and efficiency in demanding environments.
The API RTJ gaskets also called ring type joint gaskets are heavy duty and high-pressure gaskets largely used in offshore and onshore petrochemical industry, oil-field drilling and completion equipment, and in valves and pipework assemblies, along with some high integrity pressure vessel joints. The API right gasket material must be selected based on chemical compatibility with the media and the hardness of the flange. Generally, the gasket material should be roughly 30 Brinell less than the flange material to ensure sufficient deformation of the gasket without damaging the flange facing.
API RTJ gaskets comply with the ASME B16.20 standards, and are available for ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47 Series A, API 6B, API 6BX flanges.
Types of API RTJ Gaskets
The API RTJ gaskets have different style type such as R type octagonal and Oval, BX and SBX, RX and SRX, IX and AX type ring type joint gaskets
R Type Oval and Octagonal API RTJ Gaskets
The type R metal ring joint gaskets are manufactured according to ASME B16.20 and API 6A. The type R oval configuration was the original design and was followed by the type R octagonal which offered more specific contact areas.
RX RTJ Gaskets
The type RX metal ring joint gaskets are manufactured according to ASME B16.20 and API 6A. The type RX RTJ gasket series is of higher strength materials designed primarily for well-head pressures of 700 bar and beyond.
BX RTJ Gaskets
The BX metal ring joint gaskets are manufactured according to ASME B16.20 and API 6A. The type BX RTJ gasket series is of higher strength materials designed primarily for special applications involving high pressures up to 20,000 psi.
SBX and SRX RTJ Gaskets
Type SRX and SBX RTJ gaskets are the same design as the Type RX and BX gaskets. They are manufactured to API 17D and apply for Subsea Wellhead and Tree Equipment. The S indicates these gaskets have cross-drilled holes to assure that any liquid trapped behind the ring gasket on either side will flow to the I.D. bore. SRX Ring Gaskets usually be designed in 6BX and/or 17D RTJ flanges under water.
Materials of API RTJ Gaskets
API RTJ Gaskets generally are made from soft iron, low carbon steel, alloy steels (such as F5 and 410), stainless steels (including 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 321, 347, 410), and also be designed by some non-ferrous metals, for example, high nickel alloys, super alloy steels and Titanium, etc.
